Byte was originally from Mezzo Melodyland, but eventually moved to Drowsy Dreamland since it was more his "style". She accidentally got picked up for a job at Fast Asleep - All Star Suites due to their name being mistaken for a cog name. While Byte figured out the place really fast, nobody has learned of Byte's true identity. Cog models are just different these days aren't they?

They kind of hate their job there. Byte is subject to irrational customers and a boss who never EVER shuts up. He gets along with some of his co-workers, but most are too busy with themselves to pay attention to him. The pay is fine though, minus the fact it's in cogbucks which requires conversion. For what Byte does however, it feels like it could use a raise.

His day job is actually as a Toon Resistance Ranger, which she was unwillingly drafted into. It's not that Byte has a strong opinion on cogs, but they always feel like they have to be busy with something. If it's not dropping anvils on suits or working as a receptionist, Byte is probably fishing or racing or golfing or playing Toono or...
